Outfit of the Day: Shoot with Wonderfulife Productions

I was fortunate enough to take part in a mini shoot with the lovely Julia from Wonderfulife Productions last week. Wonderfulife Productions are based in Galway -same as myself- and take really beautiful photographs and videos for all occasions.

As I'm fairly new to the whole blogging adventure, I was pretty nervous about taking part in a shoot. My experience in front of the camera consists of cheesy, posed 'Irish dancer' shots, funny faced pictures with my friends and making my boyfriend snap the odd 'outfit picture' on my phone! But Julia was so kind and gave wonderful direction which made me feel at ease instantly!

Check out the finished product!

How To Wear: Culottes

Oh yes. Love them or hate them, culottes are back in a big way. And the great thing is, with the right shape and style, they're surprisingly flattering and very wearable for both day and night. On paper, pleated trousers don't sound particularly flattering, but in this case, they will make your waist look tiny!

HERE'S HOW TO WEAR THEM:

To really highlight the waist, wear with a cropped shirt or bralet. If you don't fancy flashing too much flesh, opt for a pair of culottes that sit right under the rib cage with a shirt that just hits the waistband.

You don't have to go for crazy prints to cash in on the trend. Stick to black, white and neutral tones for a chic look. Or, try a block colour (like the tomato red pair below) for a more daring, but still classy ensemble.

For a more relaxed take on the trend, wear with a cami or shirt tucked in and slightly bloused over the top. For colder weather, add layers with an oversized jumper, coat or duster.

Heels are an obvious winner when it comes to shoes as they'll lengthen the legs, but don't be afraid to mix it up! Wear your culottes with trainers (I'm obsessed with my New Balance 574's), Birkenstock's or sliders for an effortless, laid back look.

So don't be shy and give them a whirl! Be warned, you may literally be twirling in all their billowy goodness! Hopefully you'll end up loving culottes as much as I do...
