Game of Doppelgangers: Season One

So, John and I have finally given in and joined the rest of the world as Game of Thrones watchers. Its not that we are completely out of the loop, its just that when something becomes such a huge phenomenon, we both tend to become pretty stubborn and refuse to join in- just because we don't want to be like everyone else. The problem with this stubbornness is, we then get pissed off because there are so many cultural references out there that we don't understand(and wish we did).
While I am really enjoying it, and gosh darn it, they know how to lure you back in with an end-of-episode cliffhanger, I can't help but be distracted by how so many of the characters look like other famous actors and characters. Like, I am trying to pay attention to what's going on, but I am actually thinking 'God that guy looks like that half-face dude from batman. They aren't the same guy are they? No, they're not. I had better google it...shit, what did I just miss?? Did someone just die? Are they brother and sister? Well that's just gross. God he looks like him though..' This sort of thing happens all the time, and it has prompted me to compile a list of my Game of Thrones Doppelgangers. Some of them look ridiculously alike, some of them don't really look alike at all, but it is how I identify the characters in my head(their names are confusing so I need descriptions!). I hope you enjoy the list- I have focused solely on season one characters for now...

Left: This is Aaron Eckhart. He is not Jaime Lannister. Right: Jaime Lannister played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
These two actually look freakishly similar- the definition of doppelganger.

Left: Atreyu from The Neverending Story. Right: Bran Stark, played by Isaac Hempstead Wright.
So no, these two don't look alike at all. But there is just an essence of Atreyu about Bran. How happy he was to get back on a horse after his accident; The way he is always staring mysteriously at stuff; and the fact that if he had to go on some kind of epic journey to save a Princess and the world he knows, I really think he would have the balls to do it.

Left: Alan Ruck. Right: Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish, played by Aiden Gillen.
Whenever I see this dude come on the screen, all I can think of is Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off...and not even necessarily the age that he is in this picture, but like the young age that he is in that movie as well.

Left: Terrence the fairy from the Disney Tinkerbell movies. Fun fact, he is voiced by former tween pop-star Jesse McCartney. Right: He who must not be named...OK no, but he may as well be what he is called as he is the freaking devil. Joffrey Baratheon played by Jack Gleeson.
I did try to find a more sinister looking fairy, but that image was hard to find. He certainly does have a fairy/pixie look about him though, doesn't he? And there's also something strikingly Anime going on with him as well.
Left: Dreamy Blaine from Glee, played by Darren Criss. Right: Dreamy Jon Snow played by Kit Harrington.
The similarity is not just that I think they are both dreamy, although I want to make it clear that I think they are both dreamy. Is this clear? I feel like in his free time, maybe Jon dons a blazer and likes nothing more than having an ol' singsong up there on that wall, entertaining Whitewalkers and Nights Watchmen alike. Its worth noting, that there's also a touch of Heath Ledger in Ten Things I Hate About You about Jon Snow, which is fitting, given Heath had a little singsong on a wall-like structure as well.

Left: Diane Kruger. Right: Sansa Stark played by Sophie Turner.
At first I thought Sansa looked like Leelee Sobieski, but after doing some googling, it seems Diane Kruger is the more obvious lookalike. Either way, she is really beautiful. Looking at more recent pictures of her however, she doesn't really look like her anymore- but in this first season, she really does.

Left: Lucious Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies. Right: Viserys Targaryen, played by Harry Lloyd.
So yeah, these two don't look alike either. But god, they are both just so goddam evil...and blonde. Evil and platinum blonde, so instead of learning his name, I just thought of Viserys as 'Malfoy guy'.
Left: The ghost of Christmas Present from A Muppet Christmas Carol. Right: Robert Baratheon, played by Mark Addy.
Everytime I saw this man, I was struck by the fact that he looked like a generic cartoon rosy-cheeked king. So its not just this Muppet that he reminds me of. Its pretty much all puppet and cartoon kings with cheeks who like to drink wine.
Left: Shakira in the 'Whenever, Wherever' video. Right: Daenerys Stormborn, played by Emilia Clarke.
This is a case where you might argue that they don't actually look alike. But seriously, that outfit? The hair? They are ridiculously similar. And trust me, when I talk about her, or need to ask John a question about her, I refer to her as 'hot Shakira chick' and he knows exactly who I am on about. So it can't just be me!

Left: Dave Navarro(he was in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers for a bit, but is probably more famous for being married to Carmen Electra for a bit as well.) Right: Khal Drogo, played by Jason Momoa.
This is nearly too obvious to include in the list. Seriously. I don't need to say much about these two- just look at the evidence.

Left: A young Mick Jagger. Right: Theon Greyjoy, played by Alfie Allen(yes, Lily Allen's brother. She even had that song 'Alfie' about him, remember?)
I think this character is likeable(for now, I have no idea what he ends up like in future seasons!) and I think its because of his face and his accent and just because he has that generally cheeky look about him. And oh yeah, he looks like a slightly less-handsome young Mick Jagger.

Left: Keira Knightly. Right: Cersei Lannister played by Lena Heady. OK, so these two don't look that alike, but what they do have in common, is that ridiculous duck-facey pout that they are both always doing. I don't know if its meant to be sexy, or mysterious, or what...but they are both at it, all the time.

Is there anyone I missed?? I would love your feedback on this because I am sure there are more!
